Social media de-attachment

Social media

socialmedia

To whoever that want to focus on their mental wellbeing including myself , de-attachment from social media could actually help a lot. Everytime I am on my phone using Facebook or TikTok I get invested so much  losing track of time. A lot of people could actually feel the same. It’s like a personalised choice of drug.Your brain’s capacity for concentration is weakened each time you reach for your phone on an impulse to release dopamine. Your brain has begun to deteriorate. If you actually have a strong reason as to why you want to cutoff social medias  whether it may be to increase your focus or to improve your life in general lets be clear with the specific purpose behind it.

HOW HARD COULD IT BE?

''How hard it could be right'' .

Trust me I have tried so many times and it’s really really hard. If you’re not clear of your reasons of  what you wanna achieve by doing it you can lose track so easily. When I was failing constantly I was getting tired and losing motivation even to try cause I knew what was gonna happen.  OKAY I hear all of us. Its hard .

WHAT TRIGGERS YOU?

Is it the feeling of wanting to show off ?
Is it boredom, stress or laziness?
Is it the fear of missing out?

It is very important to know what triggers you to use social  media to create barriers. As you identify these triggers one can start engaging in activities to stay away. One can set up productive goal every single day. For example today I will learn about mindfulness  and try to practice it every time I feel stressed.

”INSTEAD OF GOING BACK TO PHONE I WILL USE MY TIME TO MEDITATE OR GO FOR A RUN.”

LETS BE REALISTIC;

We all know important social media has become in our day to day lives and even though it has negative effects it has some great positive side to it. When I realised it’s almost 100% impossible to cut off social media one can always set a limit to the time you are there. For example, I can use it  40 minutes on my way back to home from work but I will only spend 10 minutes to post and 30 minutes to talk to my family/friends or I need to look at some articles online. Have a clear intention as why you need to use it.

When I sometimes feel like using it more I always tell myself how blessed I am to be alive, sharing meaningful relationships with my family and explore this beautiful world rather than waste my time for that little dopamine from seeing that Latte art posted by Jasmine or what Uncle Ben thinks about society.

EXPLORING YOUR SELF

If I am to be 90 years old tomorrow would I like to know
how much I compared my life to social medias and tried to fit in accordingly?
''Absolutely not'' .

I am this ultimate one and only being and who knows how many life I get to live right so why would I waste so much time for meaningless stuff and emotion from thoughts that comes from social media as thoughts are energy and energy is seeing, talking and speaking which release vibration in return. It is very important to have high vibration as to have high frequency and to flourish love and kindness and to attract better things in life.

Like I didn’t knew how much calmness painting gave me, how much happiness home cooked food brought me and how dancing/ stretching made my heart warm and reading books kept me satisfied until I tried it. Now whenever I have free time I paint , cook and dance . I love to stretch too. Reading has become my favourite thing to do.

Having said these there will always be something different for all of us and we need to find out what works for us.

FOLLOWING UP PROGRESS CONSTANTLY

Let’s be sincere as you’ve already made this far, take some time every day to consider how you use social media. Record any advancements or obstacles.  Analyse your overall development at the conclusion of each week. Always leave space for learning  & opportunities for improvement that needs to be met. When it comes to your ambitions, be adaptable. Make adjustments to particular techniques if you realise they aren’t effective. For example, if you find that one hour a day is too much, try 1.5 hours and then progressively reduce it. Record your journey in a journal. Write about your daily experiences, the difficulties you encounter, and the successes you have. Always remind yourself often of the advantages you’ve gained from cutting back on social media use, such as increased time for hobbies, better sleep, or increased focus.

”HOPE WE ALL MAKE THE BEST OUT OF THIS DE-ATTACHMENT JOURNEY.”
